If you’re pretending that a stick is a firearm, police will treat it as such.
That’s the message after two men were arrested Thursday evening. Police were called out to the 1900 block of Victoria Stree just after 9 p.m. to a report that two masked persons were walking along taking turns pointing a shotgun at members of the public on foot and in vehicles.
Several police vehicles responded and police arrested the two suspects. The shotgun was found to be a field hockey stick covered in black tape. The two male suspects had covered their faces with bandanas.
A 32-year-old Prince George man, originally from the Burns Lake area, and a 30-year-old male Prince George man, originally from the Hazelton area, were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and pointing a firearm.
