The City of Prince George is opening most of its sport fields and ball diamonds later this week for the 2018 season.

Following careful assessment, parks crews have determined that all City sport fields and ball diamonds (with the exceptions of Joe Martin, Volunteer, and Blackburn Parks) will be safe for play starting on Friday, May 11.  Joe Martin, Volunteer Park, and Blackburn Parks will be assessed again later in the week and the public will be notified when they are ready for the public to use.

Each year, city staff must determine when the fields are capable of withstanding continuous play without sustaining too much damage to turf and root systems and becoming dangerous to players.
