The Prince George Chamber of Commerce, along with the BC Chamber of Commerce and Northern Development Initiative Trust, are hosting the 2018 #TrueNorth Business Development Forum on Tuesday, January 16.
This forum is a one-day program focused on building a more resilient, prosperous northern B.C. A powerful lineup of speakers is in place for the day of learning and discussion, including session speaker Dr. Mark Colgate. Leading experts on economic development and finance will bring participants the most current data and proven strategies to grow your brands and your communities.
Colgate is a world-renowned, award-winning professor. His presentation on the “Two Essential Moments of Power” will help you crack the customer service code in your business. What is quality in the eyes of a customer? How does your ability to deliver on the Two Moments of Power correlate with sales revenue and company valuation? Packed with takeaways, Colgate reveals what few customer service experts do: that great service is about understanding a few key secrets taken from the realm of social psychology. This workshop is perfect for individuals and teams that want to “wow” their external customers – and their internal stakeholders, too.
This keynote is the foundation of The Whistler Experience® – Whistler’s award-winning service leadership program that teaches teams how to plan for and deliver world class service by building powerful experiences for employees and customers.
Economist Jim Allworth will also be one of the featured speakers.
Allworth has been in the investment business for 49 years, as both a research analyst and portfolio strategist. Through more than four decades at RBC Dominion Securities (and predecessor Pemberton), Jim has developed investment policy for the firm and translated that into solutions for individual clients. He is the RBC Dominion Securities investment strategist and Co-Chair of the Global Portfolio Advisory Committee.
Speakers will also include Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology Bruce Ralston; Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operation and Rural Development Doug Donaldson, who will be the keynote luncheon speakers; Northern Development Initiative Trust CEO Joel McKay; and Marsh Walden, president and CEO of Destination BC Tourism.
The event will be held at the Coast Inn of the North. It gets underway at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 3:30 p.m.
