Spate of liquor store break and enters

Police are continuing to investigate a series of break and enters to privately owned liquor stores recently.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Monday March 27, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a commercial alarm at a liquor store on Cowart Road.  Police attended the business and found significant damage to the front of the store, likely caused by a vehicle.  Suspects and the vehicle were gone before police arrived.

This is the third break and enter to a liquor store since Sunday March 19, and the second where a vehicle was used to gain entry.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday March 19, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a liquor store on Highway 97 near Northwood Pulpmill Road.  Officers arrived and found that the window was smashed and a small amount of liquor had been stolen.

Just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday March 21, the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at a liquor store on Monterey Road in Prince George.  Two suspects were captured on surveillance using a vehicle to gain entry to the business and then stealing several bottles of liquor.

Police are aware of the similarities in these incidents and are alive to the possibility that all three were committed by the same persons.  The investigation is continuing and officers are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible.  Further updates may be provided as they become available.
